the thing about being a *cough* “hipster” is that with all the dressing up, exclusivity, and nostalgia for an unremembered past that you were never a part of, it means you’re always just one step away from being one of those costume roleplaying retards.
The college hippies in the late 80s were just a “cooler” version of people who re-enacted Civil War battles, or people who enjoyed Ren Faires. Ditto the same for 90s-era swing dancers and Swingers-inspired folk; they were just a “hipper” version of Klingon-attired sci-fi convention-goers.

One day - and it won't be long - Donatella Versace, Aphex Twin and Iggy Pop will all get into a lift (elevator) together. In that moment, space-time will explode.

English wineries toast big harvest
Semi-fearless prediction: By 2020, there will be official ties between French Champagne houses and English wineries, and English sparkling wine will be on par with all but the highest-end Champagne houses. Southeastern England has the same chalky soil that is found in the Champagne region of France, after all.
On a similar tangent, Germany’s Spätburgunder (which we call Pinot Noir) will become the next hip red wine (long before 2020) as it seriously challenges all current Pinot Noir-growing regions of the world—except for Burgundy.
What do the rising profiles of both German reds and British “champagne” have in common? Climate change.

Rule #5, from Jim Jarmusch’s Golden Rules of Filmmaking
by Mark MalazartePost-modernism simplified in a visual quotation. Plus it features two of my favorite directors. That and this quote also eloquently sums up Tumblr and/or most blogs in a nutshell. Everyone seems to want prints of this but due to procrastination and a few other things, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. It’ll happen though, pinky swear.
